For early arrivals our Friday night June 23rd Canadian Commander’s “Meet and Greet” Dinner will take place at Corks Wine Bar & Eatery, which has been a public house since the War of 1812 when it served sailors arriving in port, the spirits of whom whom may still lurk to this day. At the conclusion of the dinner, those interested will be able to embark from the steps of the restaurant on our private haunted walking tour of the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Guided by the glow of a lantern, and the voice of our knowledgeable guide, we will learn of the spooky haunted past of many of the town’s landmarks.
On Saturday morning there will be the opportunity to go on a guided walking tour of Fort George National Historical Site, followed by a traditional English High Tea at the historical landmark Prince of Wales hotel.
Naturally, the focal point of the weekend will be the Investiture, this year celebrated at Grace United Church starting promptly at 4:00 pm. The Grand Master’s Gala Investiture Dinner will follow at the historic Pillar and Post Inn at 6:30 pm.
Finally, on Sunday morning, we will be hosting an optional farewell breakfast at Zee’s Grill in downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake for those just not ready to part ways with us and want to get some food into you before the drive back home.
All the information you need to plan your weekend is available in the above package. However, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the Commander of Canada at: livingston@stjoachimorder.org.
